A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is a unique 17-digit code that is assigned to each individual vehicle. It acts as the vehicle’s fingerprint, as no two vehicles will have the same VIN. The VIN can be used to identify important information about your car such as its manufacturer, year of production, model and even where it was manufactured.
Your vehicle identification number (VIN) can be found on the driver’s side dashboard, near where the windshield meets the hood of your car. It can also be found on the compliance plate in the engine bay, on one of the door posts (where the door latches when it is closed or in a variety of documents related to your vehicle, including its registration and insurance policy.
If you still cannot locate your VIN, contact your local dealership for assistance. They should be able to help you locate the exact location of your VIN.
To unlock your Mercedes radio, you must get your radio model, model number, and serial number.
These details are located on the sticker on the car stereo. You MUST remove the radio from the dash to view this information.
This should be easy to do with standard household items like a flathead screwdriver or a flat knife.
Pro tip: Once you've removed your radio from the dash, please take a photo of the label so you don't have to remove it again. This might come in handy later if you need to troubleshoot with our support team.
If your radio is manufactured by Becker, follow these steps
1. Retrieve the Model No. It is 6 digits long, starting with BE. E.g. BE7040
2. Find the Serial Number from the label. In this case, the Becker radio serial number is 61160666.
Once you've got these, proceed to step 2 to generate your Mercedes radio code.
If the radio Model No. begins with AL, CF or MF it was manufactured by Alpine.
1. Find the 6-digit Model Number e.g. MF2910
2. Find the 14-digit code engraved on the unit. That's the serial number. E.g. AL291020390024
Once you've got the radio Model No. and serial number, proceed to step 2 to generate your Mercedes radio code.
If the radio serial number starts with BP, or the radio sticker says Blaupunkt anywhere, it was manufactured by Blaupunkt. Follow these steps to get your Blaupunkt radio code:
1. Find the 10-digit radio Model Number e.g. 7 634 902 030.
Pro tip: Blaupunkt radios may indicate that another number is the radio model number. Ignore these. We are only interested in a 10-digit number in the form X XXX XXX XXX.
2. Find the 14-digit code engraved on the unit. That's the serial number. E.g. BP4902V7661821
Pro tip: Your radio serial number may also be displayed on the sticker–often as two seperate number. Adding these together will also produce the serial number. E.g. BP4902 + V7661821 = BP4902V7661821
Once you've got the radio Model No. and serial number, proceed to step 2 to generate your Mercedes radio code.
Now that you've got your radio model number and radio serial number, scroll to the top of the page and follow these steps:
